Eighth grade students will be required to PURCHASE a CLEAN* copy of a novel for their Individual Novel Study during the 4th Nine Weeks. Students will not be allowed to check out a book from the ACA library, the public library or to borrow a copy from a relative/friend, as students will be required to annotate the novel by writing directly on each page. Your child’s book selection will be chosen at the beginning of the 4th Nine Weeks. *A CLEAN copy is defined as a new or used copy of the novel that has no writing/annotations on any of the pages as of the purchase date.
*Students are responsible for having their supplies for each class period. If they are not prepared with supplies, then a minimum of 10 points will be deducted from the grade of that assignment.
*Please update your supplies every nine weeks.
*Teachers will have periodic novel checks, and this will be a grade, related to preparedness and following directions.
